Your Role

Gensler Newport Beach is seeking a creative, collaborative Marketing Manager to support and guide our marketing team in a fast-paced, design-driven environment. This role requires a strategic thinker and proactive communicator who thrives on both execution and innovation.

The Marketing Manager will work closely with Office and Studio Leadership, the Client Relationship and Practice Area leaders, the marketing team, and regional colleagues to drive business development pursuits, deliver high-quality marketing materials, and elevate the office's visibility and market positioning. They will oversee the day-to-day activities of the local marketing team while supporting the team's professional growth. Strong organizational, analytical, and team leadership skills are essential, along with a passion for storytelling, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to work on award-winning projects, shape the office's marketing strategy, and make a visible impact on business development success.

What You Will Do

  • Lead with clarity and vision - Implement and execute marketing strategies aligned with office strategic goals, ensuring the marketing team operates efficiently with shared understanding of priorities and direction.

  • Ownership of marketing pursuits - Lead pursuits from kickoff through submission, including proposals, presentations, and client-facing deliverables. Manage workload between the Marketing Manager and Marketing Specialist. Conduct research on clients, projects, competitors, and industry trends to inform strategy and support business development opportunities.

  • Metrics-driven performance - Develop and manage marketing budgets and allocate resources effectively across pursuits and other initiatives. Track and analyze marketing metrics, pursuit outcomes, marketing spend to revenue, and digital engagement to refine strategies and optimize results.

  • Digital marketing and innovation - Manage digital marketing initiatives, including website content, social media strategy, Salesforce email campaigns, and emerging tools (AI, video, and other technologies) to enhance storytelling and client engagement across design-focused initiatives.

  • Content management - Lead the creation and management of project case stories, resumes, and project data, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and strategic alignment. Collaborate closely with the Marketing Specialist to execute this process efficiently.

  • Client relationships and engagement - Partner with CR Leaders to build and maintain strong client relationships, playing a key role in planning and executing client events, Salesforce campaigns, and other engagement initiatives.

  • Awards strategy - Track top design awards and collaborate with Design Directors and design teams to prepare compelling submissions that maximize recognition for office projects.

  • Project storytelling and visual narrative - In collaboration with Design Directors, identify projects ready for photography and direct photo/video shoots that visually communicate the narrative and impact of our projects.

  • Internal communications and strategic presentations - Collaborate with Office Directors and leadership on internal communications and strategic presentations that align the team with business priorities.

It involves elevating the office's visibility through awards, thought leadership, and client engagement, leading a motivated and collaborative marketing team, and providing strategic vision to guide priorities and long-term initiatives. Success also includes embracing technology and innovation to modernize marketing deliverables and processes, optimizing budgets and workflows for maximum impact, and using data and insights to continuously refine strategies and enhance the office's influence and recognition in the marketplace.

Your Qualifications

  • 12+ years of marketing experience, preferably in architecture, design, or related industries.

  • Experience managing a team and leading business-critical marketing projects.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to mentor and collaborate.

  • Excellent graphic design sensibility and communication skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in InDesign, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office; and familiarity with full Adobe Creative Suite and Salesforce is a plus.

**The base salary range will be estimated between $110,000 - $155,000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
