Outside of performing A level operator duties, this role will play a key role in the selection, onboarding and training of new operators and help to improve the new hire experience. In addition, this role will help to coordinate training, job progression testing, and reporting requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in the onboarding of new hires both regular and temporary employees to include new hire safety orientation, review of work instructions, and help facilitate the onboarding process through the first 120 days of employment.

  • Assist in the development and ongoing maintenance of a formal new hire training program.

  • Assist in the facilitation of the Westlake Pipe & Fittings job progression testing program in the absence of the supervisor.

  • Assist with training coordination and delivery where identified by the Plant Manager.

  • Assist with high-school recruitment campaigns and career fairs.

  • Support plant manager in the execution of programs.

  • Assist the plant with reporting requirements (PIP, HSE, KPIs, etc)

  • Maintain level of quality consistent with established standards.

  • Comply with established safety rules.

  • Comply with company policy and procedures.

  • Maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, leads, supervisors, and managers.

  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policy.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to the satisfaction of the Plant Manager.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • Exhibits characteristics of a trainer - open minded, positive, approachable, accountable and patient

  • Good computer skills with knowledge in Microsoft Office is required.

  • Good verbal communication is essential.

  • Organizational skills to handle administrative and logistical tasks.

  • Requirements of an A-level Westlake Pipe & Fittings Operator.
