The Operational Risk Summer Internship offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in Operational Risk Management (ORM) within the financial services industry. This position will work alongside the Second Line of Defense ORM team, engaging with First Line partners to understand business operations, analyze risks and controls, evaluate the root cause of issues, and contribute to Second Line risk management initiatives. This position will engage with multiple foundational Operational Risk programs, including but not limited to, Issues and Incident Management, Fraud Risk Management, Third-Party Risk Management and Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities



  • Participate in team meetings to understand the requirements of various ORM programs
  • Execute ad hoc reporting for key stakeholders
  • Assist in the production and review of Operational Risk materials for committees and working groups
  • Help develop and support short-term second line risk projects
  • Assist in the creation of supporting program documents (procedures and user guides)


Qualifications:



  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at a university or college majoring in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting or a related business field
  • Rising junior or rising senior (highly preferred)
  • Self-directed and self-motivated with experience providing ideas and solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Expertise in delivering high quality work products with an attention to detail
  • Ability to work in Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint); advanced Excel skill a plus
