Coordinates and evaluates all elements of clinical, financial, material, and human resources (HR) in the provision of Neurodiagnostic (ND) services. With Director collaboration has HR personnel accountability and budgetary oversight of EEG/EMG/EMU cost centers. Provides education, technical test review, and support to the neuro monitoring staff to ensure neurophysiological studies of the highest quality. Responsible for the development and update of ND policies/procedures. Designs and executes Quality service monitoring. Serves as daily contact for any construction/renovation projects that include ND services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Associate's degree 2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date. 3. Professional Registry required EXPERIENCE: 1. Three (3) years' experience in Neurodiagnostic Testing PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Bachelor's degree in Allied Health or related field. 2. One (1) year of supervisory experience. CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Coordinates and evaluates all elements of clinical, financial, material, and human resources (HR) in the provision of ND services. Requires effective communication with medical staff, hospital administration, and healthcare providers. 2. Ensures adequate technical staffing coverage for all departments following established productivity standards. Activates problem resolution and troubleshooting actions to prevent patient procedural delays. Performs service recovery as needed. Acts in the absence of the Director. 3. Performs as an ND Tech in clinical and on-call rotation as needed ensuring adequate staffing and clinical care. 4. Performs as the primary ND staff educator/mentorstaff education and training toward meeting the quality of standards of the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society (ACNS) and the American Society ofElectroneurodiagnosticTechnologists (ASET) to assure optimum delivery of neurophysiologic testing and patient care. 5. 6. Maintains an expertise in anatomy, physiology, and pathology relative to neurophysiologic studiesin order tooptimize the procedure and ensure patient care/safety. Includes the implementation of operational processes that maximizework flowand efficiencies through the use of available technologies. 7. Supports staff by promoting problem solving, peer review, team building, and by displaying the highest professional standards. Serves as the professional role model and competent observer for technologists. 8. Designs and executes Quality Assurance monitoring for ND program including equipment and staff. 9. Maintains proficiency in use of neurodiagnostic equipment. Provides input to Value Analysis Department on desirable supplies required for clinical services. Includes the coordination of new equipment/product trials. 10. Develops and updates ND policies and procedures. Monitors compliance to administrative and departmental policies/ procedures. 11. Provides direct feedback of ND technologist performance and team needs. Assists with performance management and progressive discipline. Assists with the hiring, retention, interviewing, and recruitment of staff. Coaches and counsels ND technologists as needed. May monitor employee action plans. 12. Provides direct feedback regarding provision of service and customer satisfaction. Assists with execution of hospital and departmental employee satisfaction action plans. 13. Represents ND service functions as needed serving on committees as assigned. 14. Provides input into capital purchases and program expansion. Assists with budget planning. May lead program certification initiatives. 15. Performs monthly operational budget variance analysis/reporting. Responsible to monitor financial performance of cost center. Executes actions to keep budget accounts at or under budget. 16. Develops working relationships with vendors to promote execution of purchase/leasing decisions. Must have strong background knowledge of procedural environments. 2. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must demonstrate English verbal and written proficiencies to utilize complex technical guidelines and manufacturers' equipment operational instructions. 3. Must have working knowledge of electronic medical documentation and computer software necessary to provide ND services. 4. Must demonstrate ability to independently plan, organize, and set priorities in routine and /or emergency situations. 5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office functionalities and computerized learning systems. 6. Leadership skills needed to lead small work team and present concepts to diverse audiences demonstrating excellent analytical, communication, andproblem-solvingskills. 7. Financial management skills required for budgetary oversight of assigned cost center.
