About the Role:

The Laundry Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of laundry equipment within commercial or industrial laundry facilities. This position is responsible for the proper handling, cleaning, and repair of machines to guarantee high-quality laundering services that meet organizational standards. The Laundry Technician will work closely with facility management to monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. This role requires a strong attention to detail to maintain hygiene standards and ensure that all laundry processes comply with safety and quality regulations. Ultimately, the Laundry Technician contributes to the smooth workflow of laundry operations, supporting customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in operating and maintaining commercial laundry equipment or similar machinery.
  • Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Physical ability to handle manual labor including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certification or vocational training in machinery maintenance or related fields.
  • Experience with industrial laundry systems and automated equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards in laundry or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience managing inventory or supply chains.
  • Basic computer skills for logging maintenance records and communicating with management.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain commercial laundry machines including washers, dryers, and pressing equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment is functioning optimally.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in laundry machinery promptly.
  • Manage inventory of laundry supplies and parts, ensuring availability for uninterrupted operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the laundry area, adhering to all regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize laundry processes and resolve operational challenges.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance for reporting and compliance purposes.

Skills:

The Laundry Technician utilizes mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills daily to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, ensuring continuous operation. Attention to detail is essential when performing maintenance and inspections to prevent breakdowns and maintain hygiene standards. Communication skills are important for coordinating with team members and reporting issues to supervisors effectively. Organizational skills help manage inventory and maintenance schedules, contributing to efficient workflow. Additionally, adherence to safety protocols protects both the technician and the facility, fostering a safe and productive work environment.
