Position Title: HBSSW Head of School and Applied Gerontology Assistant Job Category: University Staff Employment Type: Regular Job Profile: Administrative Assistant II Job Duties: This position provides administrative assistance to the Head of School, HBSSW, and the Endowed Chair and staff of the Office of Applied Gerontology. The individual occupying this position has a broad range of responsibilities for organizing and managing support services related to the Head of School's and Applied Gerontology Offices' multiple research, education, and outreach projects. These services include management of physical and electronic files, preparation of purchasing forms, tracking expenses and preparing budget reports, and outreach projects. This is a 100% university staff-ongoing position, reporting to the Endowed Chair and the HBSSW Head of School. Hours, approximately 40 per week, will be determined with the supervisor and incumbent based on the needs of the office. This is an in-office position. Department: Accredited by the CSWE, the Social Work Department is housed in the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare (HBSSW) in the College of Community Engagement and Professions. The Department confers BSW and MSW degrees, and with the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology, jointly offers a PhD degree in Social Welfare. The doctoral program prepares students for leadership roles such as university faculty, program evaluators, and policy analysts. The MSW program, which offers both online and in-person curricular options, emphasizes generalist practice. In addition, students can complete accredited programming in substance abuse counseling and school social work along with interdisciplinary certificates in trauma-informed care, applied gerontology, and nonprofit management. MSW students can also earn coordinated degrees with various programs such as criminal justice and criminology (CJC). Compensation: The target hiring range is $24.00-$26.00/hour. Final salary offer will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
