THE POSITION

If so, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Pike County Maintenance Organization is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented professional to assist with seasonal projects in support of the Winter Maintenance Program. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Stock Clerk 1, you will provide a wide-range of clerical services to the Automotive Equipment Foreman (AEF) and the garage staff at the Pike County Maintenance Organization. A primary focus of this position involves assisting the Purchasing Agent with acquiring supplies, equipment, and services by referring to catalogues, state contracts, and other sources to obtain prices, specifications, and related information. You will be responsible for maintaining a variety of forms and files, in addition to maintaining the Automated Fuel System (AFS) and compiling AFS reports.


Within this role, you will receive, inspect, and accept or reject stockroom items, recommend invoice payments to vendors, and maintain consumable products in properly controlled storage areas. You will be tasked with maintaining accurate and current inventories and controlling the issuance of materials and supplies as deemed necessary. It is essential to maintain a clean and well organized work area conducive to safe and efficient work operations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Seasonal full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work hours are subject to change due to weather or seasonal needs.
    • Winter shifts are 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
