National Grid is hiring a Manager, Service Company and Rate Case Support in Brooklyn, NY

Job Purpose

As part of the Global Financial Reporting group, the Service Company and Rate Case Support team is primarily responsible for Service Company financial reporting, calculating annual allocation rates, the A&G time study and associated journal entries, and testing compliance of transactions to allocation policy and rate case cost of service. These processes ensure accurate financial statements and rate case cost of service, which is pivotal to the Finance function and National Grid as a whole.

Manager, Service Company and Rate Case Support, oversees the rate case support testing and Service Company compliance and reporting, and ensures the integrity of financial inputs for rate case submissions.

Reports to the Director, Global Financial Reporting, and is responsible for producing accurate and credible results.

Key Accountabilities
  • Oversee the Cost Allocation Compliance/Rate Case Data Scrub testing
  • Execution of the A&G study update and associated monthly journal entries
  • Annual allocation rate update
  • Approval of allocation rates assigned to new internal orders
  • Delivery of annual FERC Form 60 reports for Service Company
  • Review of quarterly analytical procedures over Service Company financial information
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests from regulatory authorities
  • Develop testing program for each rate case submission in NY and NE
  • Test integrity of underlying financial information utilized in developing rate case submissions
  • Identify transactions that need to be excluded from rate case submission
  • Partner with the NY and NE regulatory teams to provide Finance support during the rate case process
  • Assist in addressing ad-hoc information requests issued by the NY and NE regulators
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years' experience in accounting roles with increasing responsibility
  • Knowledge of general ledger platforms and accounting system experience
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulatory accounting principles under US GAAP (ASC 980) and the FERC Uniform System of Accounts
  • Experience reviewing and resolving data discrepancies
  • Able to assess accounting issues and recommend solutions
  • Able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience managing competing priorities while maintaining compliance and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills

Salary

$147,000 - $173,000 a year
