Nursing Tech - Progressive Care

We are seeking a Progressive Care Nursing Assistant (Non-Certified), also referred to as a PCU NA, Stepdown Nursing Assistant or Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Nursing Assistant. The PCU Nursing Assistant will work in our progressive care unit and provide essential support to nurses by delivering direct patient care to patients who require close monitoring but more stable than those in the ICU.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Help patients maintain their personal hygiene and comfort by assisting with daily tasks they may struggle with due to illness or weaknesses (such as bathing, dressing, feeding and toileting)
• Monitor and document vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature which helps the healthcare team track patient progress and detect early signs of decline or improvement
• Help with patient mobility by assisting with transfers, repositioning, and ambulation to prevent complications and help with circulation
• Observe patients for changes in condition and report concerns promptly to nursing staff
• Supporting basic medical procedures under nurse supervision, such as collecting specimens or helping with wound care
• Maintain a clean and safe environment, including infection control measures

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• Current BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, preferred
• Minimum six months' previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred
