The Mechanic I is recognized as an expert and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex

mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. This role requires exceptional technical knowledge and the ability to perform highly specialized and intricate maintenance and repair tasks autonomously, ensuring superior vehicle performance and safety. The Mechanic I is a go-to authority in the shop, leading by example and providing advanced technical guidance to junior mechanics. In addition to hands-on expertise, they play a key role in fostering a culture of continuous learning, promoting skill development, and ensuring operational efficiency through effective teamwork and mentorship.

Engine Diagnosis and Repair: Mastery in diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling a wide range of engine types,

including diesel, electric, and hydrogen fuel cell engines, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to ensure optimal

performance, reliability, and long-term durability.

Mentorship and Technical Leadership: Serve as the primary technical resource for junior mechanics, guiding Mechanic Helpers and fellow Mechanic team members through advanced diagnostics and repair techniques. Actively mentor and coach the team to elevate their skills, encouraging best practices and ensuring efficient and accurate work processes.

Engine and Body Accessory Repairs: Extensive experience in troubleshooting and repairing engine and body accessories, including:

- HVAC systems, utilizing advanced diagnostics to ensure optimal air flow, temperature control, and system efficiency.

- Alternators, generators, and voltage regulators, employing a precise approach to resolve electrical issues and ensure reliable system functionality.

- Suspension, braking, and steering components, leveraging expert knowledge to maintain critical safety and performance standards.

Electrical System Maintenance: Expert-level proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, such as gauges, interior/exterior lighting, and electric motors, ensuring optimal system performance.

Pneumatic System's Service:

Mastery in maintaining and servicing pneumatic valves, control cables, and linkages, ensuring precise

functionality and system longevity under demanding operational conditions.

Advanced Maintenance Tasks:

Skilled in performing advanced maintenance tasks, including:

General lubrication functions, such as engine oil/filter changes, air filter replacements, and chassis lubrication, ensuring

vehicle longevity.

Transmission fluid and filter changes, differential fluid checks, and tire changes, applying expert judgment to assess

system health and identify potential issues.

Removal and installation of seats, brake drums, shoes, and suspension components with an emphasis on safety and

precision.

Advanced System Repair and Replacement:

Expertise in repairing or replacing critical vehicle components such as radiators, water pumps, hoses, wheel bearings,

seals, door assemblies, seating components, and control systems, ensuring the vehicle meets all operational and safety

standards.

Provide specialized assistance in glass installations and basic body repairs, ensuring a high level of craftsmanship and

structural integrity.
