Inova Fairfax Women's hospital is looking for a full-time PACU Nurse Supervisor to work 4x10 shifts per week covering 6.00-4.30; shift hours can vary. No night shift, weekends or on call.

Our unit is a 32-bay Preoperative and PACU department caring for patients before and after their General Gynecology, Gynecological Oncology, Urological Gynecology, and Robotic procedures. We care for 30 patients a day on average, 75% of which go home same day from the PACU. Our acuity ranges from benign procedures to extensive oncology cases.

The Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor serves as a front-line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the unit. Embraces, uses and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools. Supports unit based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes. Acts as a role model who leads by example in delivering "Service Always" and in making patient experience a priority on units of responsibility.

Women's PACU Unit Supervisor Qualifications:

  • One year of nursing experience is required
  • Degree from an accredited school of nursing, BSN, or ADN within one year of BSN completion
  • RN License to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider certification is required from AHA
  • Specialty certification (as required by unit) within one year from date of hire.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Women's PACU Unit Supervisor preferred qualifications:

  • RN with at least 2 years of PACU-to include PreOp, phase 1 and 2 recovery
  • Prior leadership experience to include charge, supervisory or management
