Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Dental Assistant II within the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the
Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (
RSDM).
Under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor, the Dental Assistant II will provide essential clinical support to the Department of Pediatric Dentistry/Special Care. This role involves direct patient care, assisting dental providers during clinical procedures, and ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for patients with diverse needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Serve as a Dental Assistant in the Pediatric Dentistry/Special Care Clinic.
- Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures.
- Prepare and organize tools needed for procedures.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of instruments and operatory areas.
- Maintain patient Confidentiality.
- Monitor and maintain dental supplies and equipment.
- Follow all infection control and safety protocols.
- Provide compassionate care and assistance to pediatric and special care patients.
- Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers' regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
