Pay: $80,000 - $83,000

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm; hybrid work schedule (3 days in office; 2 days remote)

Full-Time position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability, Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Flexible Spending Accounts, Long Term Disability, and several voluntary supplemental benefit offerings. In addition, these positions are eligible for paid time off in the form of vacation, sick, holiday, floating holiday, jury duty, and bereavement leave. JOB SUMMARY:

The Manager II, Community Engagement is a key role that connects retail team members, and community stakeholders to the mission, values, and goals of the organization. This individual will develop and manage internal communications to retail employees to strengthen their mission awareness, as well as lead external outreach efforts that build relationships with local communities and partners. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, spokesperson, culture-builder, and community connector with a passion for mission-driven work. The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategies to enhance the organization's visibility and engagement within local communities throughout Colorado.

The Community Engagement Manager will work cross-functionally with the Customer Experience team, Retail Operations, Business Development team, Retail Store Management team, Community Programs team, and collaborate with external partners to bring community programs to life in-store and across marketing communication channels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Internal Communication and Mission Engagement:



  • Create and manage internal retail team member communication strategy and execution including newsletters, video content, and employee resource materials connecting social enterprise team members to our mission.
  • Work with Store Managers across Colorado to "adopt a program" from within Goodwill of Colorado's suite of programs, with the objective of engaging our social enterprise workers with our mission.


Community Engagement and Outreach:



  • Represent the organization at community events, public forums, and community partnership meetings.
  • Develop and implement hyper-local community engagement events to increase awareness and support for Goodwill's local community mission and services, using our Retail Real Estate footprint when possible.
  • Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with key local community partners, including businesses, schools, civic organizations, and other nonprofits.


Event Planning and Execution:



  • Plan, organize, and execute community engagement events at our retail stores and at other offsite locations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful event logistics, including marketing, registration, and lead on-site coordination.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of events and activities, adjusting as needed to improve future initiatives.


Content Creation and Media Community Spokesperson:



  • Develop content that showcases our local community impact for both internal and external use.
  • Work closely with marketing and communications teams to align messaging across channels.
  • Spokesperson in the community and media interviews highlighting our local community partnerships and mission impact.


Evaluation and Reporting:



  • Track and analyze metrics related to team member mission understanding, and external understanding of Goodwill of Colorado as a local community partner with local community mission impact.
  • Use data and feedback to continuously improve strategy and execution and report outcomes to leadership.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:



  • A Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, and/or a related field is required.


Experience:



  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in local community engagement, and/or marketing, communications.
  • Experience as a company spokesperson in the community and with the media.
  • Community engagement experience and community partnership development.
  • Experience planning and executing grass roots events or multi community initiatives.


Other:



  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse community members and stakeholders.
  • Experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for community events.
  • Experience with event planning.
  • The incumbent will be required and must have the ability to drive for company business*.


*Per auto vehicle insurance carrier requirements: For applicants/employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, or for purpose of receiving company mileage reimbursement they must be at least:



  • 19 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation),
  • 25 - 70 years of age for all passenger transportation services,
  • 21 years of age for CDL.


Applicants/employee will be required to undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check; applicants/employees must disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes (within the last five (5) years)(Note: not all violations are a disqualification for employment and each case will be reviewed by the insurance carrier); must have valid Colorado State driver license; must also be able to operate company vehicle, and adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws governing vehicle operation.
