The Manager of Retail leads all front of house operations with an ownership mindset, setting the standard through leading by example and proactive leadership. This role ensures that all retail operations, food safety, sanitation, and inventory activities align with Krispy Kreme's quality standards, safety expectations, and guest experience goals. The Manager of Retail oversees team scheduling, performance, and development while driving continuous improvement and ensuring efficiency, guest complaints, and consistent operations.

Retail Production and Operations Management

*Provide hands-on leadership on the retail floor by guiding, coaching, and troubleshooting daily operations.

KPI: Retail Net Sales

*Ensure product quality and operational efficiency by monitoring performance, minimizing waste, and responding to demand.

*Manage and adjust inventory levels to meet customer demand, and operational constraints.

*Proactively identify and resolve equipment or process issues to reduce downtime and optimize efficiency.

*Collaborate closely with the Manager of Manufacturing to ensure end-to-end operational success, providing mutual support for coverage during time off or vacations.

People Leadership

*Lead a team of doughnut servers, shift supervisors, and other possible roles.

*Recruit, train, schedule effectively, and evaluate performance of all manufacturing Krispy Kremers.

KPI: Training Completion, Turnover, Retail Labor Results, Unapproved OT

*Provide consistent coaching, feedback, and performance management to build strong teams.

*Lead by example with the Leadership Mix, and foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment for all Krispy Kremers.

*Support succession planning through training and promoting high-potential Krispy Kremers.

Food Safety & Sanitation

*Ensure compliance with food safety, occupational safety, and regulatory agency standards as needed.

KPI: 3rd Party Audit (Arguilea)

*Conduct regular internal audits to maintain cleanliness, brand standards, sanitation, and food handling standards of all equipment, facilities, and employees.

KPI: Monthly Self Audit & Internal Audit

*Promote a culture of safety awareness.

KPI: Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR)

*Lead investigations of incidents or food safety breaches, document findings, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Inventory and Supply Chain

*Manage packaging and finished goods inventory to meet daily production needs.

*Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts and proper documentation.

KPI: Weekly Inventory Count Accuracy

*Collaborate with manager of manufacturing to ensure timely and accurate ordering, receiving and delivery of supplies.

Guest Experience

*Serve as a role model for customer first behaviors according to company standards.

KPI: Overall OSAT, Complaints per 10K

*Deliver a doughnut theater experience during all hours, including Hot Light.

KPI: Hot Light Compliance

*Build a team of customer-focused employees through coaching and performance management.

*Maintain a high level of store sanitation and cleanliness.

*Maintain product freshness and availability throughout the day to meet both retail guests.

*Maintain and achieve Drive Thru and Online Ordering standards.

KPI: Drive Thru Speed

Financial & Resource Management

*Monitor and manager labor costs, inventory usage, and operational expenses.

*Manage financials on the Profit & Loss statement to meet Annual Operating Plan.

*Monitor and record waste accurately daily.

KPI: Waste Tracking and Waste %

*Optimize processes and reduce waste to improve operating margins and profitability.

Communication & Reporting

*Lead daily pre-shift meetings to align the team on safety, doughnut freshness, doughnut availability, labor management, shop cleanliness, and financial goals.

*Coordinate with cross-functional leaders including manufacturing management, Ops Services, facilities, and human resources as needed.

*Maintain clear documentation of production activities, performance management, equipment issues, and compliance records.

  • 4+ years' experience in QSR or retail environment in a manager capacity required.
  • Proven ability to manage fast-paced operations with changing priorities
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills
  • Comfortable working across multiple shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital tools for scheduling, inventory, and reporting
