Description Position Summary: The HR Generalist oversees and executes the daily functions of the Human Resources department, including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This position provides operational oversight of HR functions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. this hands-on role requires broad HR expertise across recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations. Pay Range: $27.00 - $35.10 per hour. Requirements Education / Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent years of professional experience. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of direct HR experience, preferably in an HR Generalist or Specialist capacity.
- Professional Certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, EEO, and FLSA.
- Experience in employee relations, including conducting investigations, managing grievances, and advising management on disciplinary actions.
- Proficiency with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems), ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems), and data analytics tools.
- Experience with Relias, preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
Clearances and Requirements
- Must successfully clear DOJ and FBI fingerprint checks.?
- Must be cleared by ORR.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.?
- Valid California driver's license and current auto insurance.?
- Must provide proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases (e.g., Varicella, MMR, Tdap, TB, Influenza).
- Completion of all required ORR trainings, including Employee Misconduct Acknowledgment, Code of Conduct, and Sexual Abuse and Harassment Prevention.?
Essential Duties
- Manage and analyze HR data to support reporting, decision-making, and compliance with employment laws and company policies. Prepare and interpret HR dashboards (e.g., turnover, engagement, diversity metrics) and provide insights to managers.
- Assist in onboarding and new hire orientation. Support recruitment coordination and candidate communication. Assist in analyzing workforce trends and headcount planning to align with business objectives.
- Maintain a high level of organization, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Coordinate learning sessions, track participation, and assist in training logistics. Support in content creation and development for training experiences to enhance learning impact.
- Track and review employee evaluations, support goal-setting processes, and follow up on performance documentation.
- Help coordinate engagement initiatives, wellness programs, and collect employee feedback.
- Participate in HR initiatives and cross-functional projects for learning and development. Support organizational change initiatives by helping communicate changes and gathering employee feedback.
- Partner with operations teams to support supervisor and manager development initiatives.
- Utilize Paylocity and Relias for HR processes and reporting.
- Maintain employee files with high attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Assist in auditing internal processes and preparing for regulatory reporting.
- Participate in improving HR processes and in the strategic development of HR systems, including identifying and helping implement practical, streamlined solutions in areas such as recruiting, onboarding, HR operations, and data/reporting.
