Are you our Documentation Specialist?

Based at our Atlas Copco facility in Grayling, MI, this role reports directly to the Engineering Manager and works closely with Engineering, Production, and Materials. You will be responsible for creating, controlling, and maintaining the technical documentation and master data that allow our products to be built accurately and on time.

Here's how you'll make an impact:



  • Manage the documentation flow that supports product release from Engineering to Manufacturing, including bills of material, part numbers, and routings in our ERP and document systems.
  • Prepare and maintain product documentation packages such as user manuals, maintenance instructions, and spare parts lists with input from engineers and product specialists.
  • Maintain accurate item and inventory data, and partner with Materials and Production to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Process and track engineering changes so drawings, models, BOMs, and related documents are updated, approved, and properly archived.
  • Follow document control procedures to support compliance with internal standards and customer or audit requirements.
  • Recommend and help implement improvements to documentation processes, templates, and standards.

To succeed, you will need

  • Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or technical documentation environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with technical information, including drawings, specifications, and part data.
  • Ability to work confidently in business and document systems such as ERP, PLM, PDM, or similar tools, along with solid skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with engineers, production teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks, or willingness to learn, to view and make basic updates to drawings and models.
  • Understanding of engineering principles, standards, and practices, supported by relevant experience or education in a technical field.
