Position Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the performance of various accounting, internal control, and financial reporting responsibilities, including fixed assets and leases. Strong initiative, communication, and collaboration skills, along with a solid accounting background and intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and Word, are essential for this role. Duties & Responsibilities
Perform monthly close processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and account roll-forwards Review fixed asset transactions to ensure proper capitalization or expense treatment Record fixed asset additions, transfers, and dispositions in the fixed asset system for multiple companies Analyze new projects and existing asset records to ensure accurate recording of additions, transfers, and dispositions Assist with the preparation and review of annual budgets related to depreciation Perform lease classification testing to ensure proper operating or finance accounting treatment Support financial accounting and reporting for leases, including recording lease transactions in lease software, preparing schedules, and performing lease administration activities Prepare monthly and ad hoc reports and analyses Coordinate with operations leaders across the organization Assist with internal and external audits Perform other duties and special projects as needed
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration One to four or more years of corporate accounting experience Fixed asset accounting experience preferred but not required Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with high attention to detail
