THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The intern will engage in a variety of tasks related to marketing and educational outreach initiatives, which will encompass conducting market research to identify trends and opportunities, compiling and analyzing data to support decision-making, and creating comprehensive reports that summarize findings and recommendations. Responsibilities will also include updating documents and publications to ensure accuracy and relevance, assisting in the design of surveys to gather feedback, and tabulating the results to derive meaningful insights. Effective communication will be essential, as the intern will be responsible for managing both voice and electronic correspondence. Furthermore, the role will involve general office duties and file management to maintain an organized and efficient work environment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time internship that will run from 5/1/26 through 8/28/26.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework), part-time on a schedule that aligns with their supervisor so they are in the office on the same days. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Internship Requirements:

  • Enrollment in good academic standing as a FULL-TIME student in a bachelor's or advanced degree program in:
    • Environmental/ Forestry
    • Communications/ Marketing
    • Biology related
  • An approved major course which includes a qualifying 24 credit hours of study in the physical, biological and environmental sciences may be acceptable.
  • Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)
  • Freshman year completed by May 2026
  • Pennsylvania residency or enrollment of a Pennsylvania college or university

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
