DESCRIPTION OF WORK

PennDOT is ready and equipped to provide a wealth of opportunities for college students eager to kickstart their careers in the summer of 2026. This initiative allows participants to gain invaluable hands-on experience in a variety of fields, including information technology, geology, and other scientific or technical areas. Engaging in this program not only enables students to put their academic knowledge into practice but also helps them cultivate essential skills that are highly sought after in the job market. Moreover, this experience offers the added benefit of contributing to public service, allowing students to make a meaningful impact in their communities while advancing their professional development.
Internship opportunities associated with this posting will be for Engineering District 2 which consists of McKean, Potter, Elk, Cameron, Clinton, Clearfield, Centre, Mifflin, and Juniata counties.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time internship that will run from May 2026 through August 2026.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work hours may vary.
- Travel may be required.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled or intending to enroll FULL-TIME or PART-TIME in a two-year degree, bachelors' degree, or advance program for the fall semester.
- Must be a Pennsylvania resident or currently enrolled at a Pennsylvania college or university.
- In good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
