JOB TITLE: Master Scheduler

STATUS: Exempt

REPORTS TO: Director of Manufacturing West Cost

SALARY RANGE: $90K - 110K

We are currently seeking a Master Scheduler for our Shields Manufacturing facility in Tualatin Oregon. (On-site position)

The Master Scheduler role is focused on managing schedules and maximizing efficient use of capacity to satisfy customer demand. This is a key liaison role responsible for analyzing scenarios that balance demand and supply while optimizing inventory and minimizing the impact of demand volatility.

Responsibilities include developing capacity planning, managing ERP master data relevant to scheduling, and identifying bottlenecks and capacity constraints that need special attention. Analyzes and revises production schedules and provides appropriate delivery dates as required. Assigns production time to plant equipment and sets priorities for labor resources to be allocated to operations necessary to complete customer orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify current planned level of demand and maintain robust production schedules to meet the identified customer demand.
  • Calculate production lead times.
  • Manage load leveling and bottleneck scheduling and utilize theory of constraints (TOC) for more accurate scheduling.
  • Analyze production floor status through input/output control reporting.
  • Facilitate the flow of materials for proper sequencing of work and other production planning efforts.
  • Monitor production progress and provide appropriate notifications when adjustments are needed to support delivery.
  • Establish, measure, monitor, and adjust capacity levels to execute all manufacturing schedules.
  • Engage in capacity management during sales and operations planning, master scheduling, materials requirements planning, and production activity control.
  • Manage work center input and output loading.
  • Resolve differences between workstation loads and available capacity
  • Measure the utilization and efficiency of workstations.
  • Establish key performance indicators of forecast accuracy.
  • Coordinate with Facility Manager for scheduling facility maintenance (PM) and repairs that will impact production schedules.
  • Provide input to finance on operating plans for the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process, concerning incoming volume and capacity.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years master scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated proficiency facilitating production/support process to meet customer demand.
  • APICS or CPIM Certification desirable.
  • Proficiency in extracting ERP data using various methods (Crystal Reports, PowerBI, SSRS, Excel PowerQuery)
  • Experience with ERP system (Syteline preferred).
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding analytical, verbal, and written communication skills along with the ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization both inside and outside the company.
  • Functional understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

Work Environment

  • Full-time, typically on-site in a manufacturing facility.
  • May require occasional off-shift support or weekend availability during critical production runs.
