American Industrial Transport, Inc. is a privately-owned company based in St. Charles Missouri, providing railcar leasing and repair services to the companies that move the essential assets that power the North American economy.

Job Summary & Core Responsibilities:

The Fleet Operations Intern will support the Fleet Operations team through project-based work focused on operational efficiency, process improvement, and data-driven decision-making. This role provides hands-on exposure to day-to-day fleet operations while contributing to clearly defined projects with tangible deliverables.

* Support operations-focused projects aligned with evolving fleet processes and operating models

* Assist with research, data collection, analysis, and reporting to support operational decision-making

* Supporting process automation initiatives

* Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency, accuracy, and productivity

* Provide day-to-day support to the Fleet Operations team as needed, including documentation and workflow support

* Participate in project planning and execution, helping track progress and deliverables

* Collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand operational needs and support implementation of solutions

* Learn about railcar operations, repair workflows, and fleet management while supporting day-to-day operational needs.

Required Experience / Skills / Qualifications

* Entry-level position

* Strong analytical and organizational skills

* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word

* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

* Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

Required Education / Training / Certifications

* Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree (Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Analytics, or related field preferred)

Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required:

* Office environment

* Periodic, travel

* Periodic, plant enviroment

* Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed
