Job Summary:

The Sr. Analyst, Corporate Finance M&A will be supporting the America's Region strategic financial initiatives by conducting competitive and market research, performing financial analysis for value creation, and assisting in transaction executions and integration. This position will report to the Corporate Finance Senior Manager.

Principal Responsibilities:

Long-term Financial Planning




    • Responsible for updating 5-year projections model for the Americas on an annual basis in close coordination with multiple business and functional teams within the Americas and Messer Group
    • Preparation of corresponding presentations summarizing forecast for the C-suite and Messer Group



Mergers & Acquisitions




    • Play a crucial role in helping identify, evaluate, and execute acquisitions to ensure they align with the company's goals and create value for shareholders
    • Take the lead in conducting valuation and returns analyses
    • Partner with business stakeholders to achieve transactional goals
    • Help coordinate due diligence and integration efforts related to acquisition activities, ensuring smooth transitions and the creation of value across the combined entities
    • Liaise with financial investment banks and other stakeholders on transaction-related matters, as required
    • Support Project Management of any potential divestitures



Corporate Strategy and Strategic Financial Support




    • Support the refinement and execution of the America's financial and purpose driven growth strategy



  • Help build models/business cases, predict sensitivity outcomes, data analysis data and prepare high-quality presentations for communication with various stakeholders, as needed
  • Help assess risk exposure and valuation mitigation
  • Help harmonize and standardize modelling capabilities across Messer regions
  • Help create Mergers & Acquisitions pipeline for the Americas region aligned with Americas' and Corporate strategy



    • Research and provides insights to key leadership on relevant macro and micro-economic topics, customer/industry activity, the Company's existing end-markets and potential new markets
    • Conduct competitor deep dives and analysis (liaison with Messer Group)



Collaboration with Group Finance on initiatives/continued improvements/projects

Support other America's function areas in investment opportunities (e.g. capital expenditures)

Required Skills:



  • Fair understanding of financial statements, valuation methods, accounting
  • Efficient analytical, interpretation and problem-solving capabilities with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word


  • Ability to prioritize workload
  • Self-motivated, strong work ethic, process driven
  • Exceptional attention to details combined with strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and strong follow up skills
  • Strong impact skills to drive and foster favorable investment decision making
  • Ability to perform duties as an individual and in teams as well
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritization of critical tasks
  • Strong and engaging presence capable of quickly establishing credibility and influencing others
  • Effective and Transparent Communication skills with excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to explain complex topics in a clear, simple, and concise manner
  • Effective relationship building to create strong relationships across the organization and functional areas/stakeholders
  • Experience in Corporate Finance, investment planning, or investment banking
  • Familiarity with tools such as Bloomberg, FactSet or financial databases (helpful)


Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance or related Financial Investment
  • 3 - 5 years of full-time Finance, Strategy, Capital Investment experience with ~1 year of investment banking experience preferred


The salary range for this position is $98,000-$145,000. Messer provides medical, dental, vision, short term disability, life insurance and paid time off as well as other voluntary benefits, such as, long term disability in accordance with the terms and conditions of these Plans. Employees are eligible to enroll in Messer's 401(k) Plan. Employees may be eligible to participate in the company's bonus program.
