Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists lead teacher(s) in three classrooms all aspects of programming for children two to five years of age.
  • Responsible for the safety and well-being of children in the program.
  • Provides a safe, warm, nurturing and challenging environment where children are free to explore, learn and grow.
  • Establishes positive, supportive and respectful relationships with children and their parents as well as with colleagues.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Associates or bachelors degree in early childhood education or related field with a minimum of six credit hours of early childhood education and/or development as well as one year of experience working with young children.
Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree with a minimum of six credit hours of early childhood education.
  • Minimum of one year experience working in a group setting with young children.

Certificates/Credentials/Licenses
Must meet DCFS requirements for an Early Childhood Teacher
Computer Skills
Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Internet and email applications.
