THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will oversee the total maintenance, repair, and operation of a fleet of automotive equipment. Work involves directing and coordinating the garage, grounds, and transportation functions at the facility. Responsibilities also include initiating all parts and supplies orders, making recommendations for replacement of unserviceable vehicles, and dispatching fleets of automotive and construction equipment. Our team will rely on you to maintain campus roads, parking lots, and grounds which include lawn care, planting, paving, and snow removal. Additionally, you will oversee a comprehensive preventive maintenance program on automotive vehicles and equipment to ensure maximum operating efficiency of all equipment. This role encompasses a comprehensive range of supervisory responsibilities, including the planning, assigning, and reviewing work of a mechanic, equipment operators, garage workers, and grounds personnel.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime and travel as needed.
  • May change based on operational needs.
  • FREE PARKING!

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of journey level mechanical experience in the diagnosis and repair of automobiles, heavy trucks, or construction equipment; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires the possession of an active Pennsylvania driver's license.
  • This position requires the possession of an active Pennsylvania Class 1 Inspection Mechanic Certification.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
