POSITION SPECIFICS

The Office of the Registrar at Penn State Harrisburg invites applications for the role of Assistant Registrar for Graduation Certification and Degree Audits. Serving a diverse population of more than 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students across residential and World Campus programs, the Registrar's Office delivers front-facing, student-centered services that support academic progress and operational excellence.

This professional position provides leadership for the campus's undergraduate graduation certification process, ensuring accurate assessment of degree completion in close collaboration with academic programs, advisers, and administrative partners. The Assistant Registrar also authorizes updates to undergraduate student academic records and degree audits, applying University policy and curriculum requirements with consistency, accuracy, and sound judgement.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, strategic, and collaborative, with strong technical, communication and critical thinking skills to navigate nuanced academic situations with professionalism and accuracy. Strong technical proficiency, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills are required, as well as the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students and academic professionals.

The Assistant Registrar responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead the undergraduate graduation certification process for residential and World Campus students in Penn State Harrisburg programs by verifying completion of all degree requirements in collaboration with academic programs
  • Investigate and resolve complex academic issues impacting students' graduation eligibility in partnership with academic programs, Capital College registrar, and University registrar's office
  • Review, authorize, and process updates to individual student records-including curricular exceptions, substitutions, and waivers-in accordance with Faculty Senate policies, and Capital College or University curriculum standards
  • Ensure compliance with University, state, and federal guidelines governing student academic records
  • Provide guidance to students, advisers, and faculty regarding curriculum requirements, academic policy, and degree progress
  • Develop and maintain inclusive, equitable, and scalable standard procedures for evaluating and processing degree audit updates
  • Analyze, and interpret reports from University systems to identify trends, address concerns, and provide recommendations to campus leadership
  • Develop resources that enhance support for student success and degree completion
  • Contribute to broader administrative operations within the Registrar's Office as needed

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $46,400.00 - $67,300.00.
