We're seeking a visionary leader to shape and execute our global sustainability strategy, embedding environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and governance excellence into every facet of our business. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Roadmap
- Develop and execute a comprehensive 3-5-year global sustainability roadmap, aligned with Rite-Hite's Sustainability pillars and strategic objectives.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) tied to environmental performance, product innovation, and social responsibility.
- Identify and assess sustainability-related risks and emerging opportunities across business units and geographies.
- Provide quarterly progress reports to the Executive Leadership Team, highlighting outcomes, challenges, and upcoming priorities.
ESG Governance & Reporting
- Lead Rite-Hite's participation in global ESG disclosure frameworks (e.g., EcoVadis) and ensure consistency in reporting quality and data integrity.
- Establish a centralized ESG reporting system to support customer inquiries and expectations.
- Conduct ongoing benchmarking against peers, customers, competitors, and industry leaders to inform strategy and continuous improvement.
- Oversee preparation of annual Rite-Hite Sustainability Report.
- Manage and monitor compliance activities that intersect with sustainability, ensuring adherence to global regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with Legal and Compliance to ensure all sustainability practices meet or exceed regulatory and voluntary reporting standards.
Climate & Environmental Stewardship
- Oversee enterprise-wide greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and reduction programs, including energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, and waste minimization.
- Set measurable carbon intensity and resource efficiency targets, and partner with Operations to implement reduction initiatives at facilities globally.
- Lead lifecycle assessments (LCAs) and circular economy strategies to enhance product sustainability and recyclability.
Sustainable Supply Chain & Procurement
- Collaborate with Procurement to implement responsible sourcing standards, supplier sustainability assessments, and compliance with the Supplier Code of Conduct.
- Partner with suppliers to develop joint improvement programs for emissions, material transparency, and ethical labor practices.
- Integrate sustainability criteria into vendor evaluation and contracting processes.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and resource efficiency through sustainability-focused improvements.
Product Innovation & Design
- Drive integration of sustainability principles into product design, innovation processes, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Partner with ATD and NPD teams to embed eco-design principles in product development.
- Support customer-facing sustainability communications-such as product environmental data sheets and performance certifications-to strengthen market differentiation.
Culture, Communication & Engagement
- Champion a sustainability culture through employee education, recognition programs, and internal campaigns.
- Represent Rite-Hite externally at industry forums, trade associations, and sustainability partnerships, positioning the company as a leader in industrial sustainability.
- Function as the primary internal advisor to leadership on sustainability trends, risks, and regulatory developments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 3-5+ years of experience leading corporate sustainability or ESG programs in a global manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong working knowledge of global sustainability standards (e.g., EcoVadis) and regulatory trends in the U.S., EU, and Asia.
- Proven history of implementing sustainability initiatives with measurable ROI.
- Excellent leadership, project management, communication, and data-driven decision-making skills; ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated experience integrating sustainability into core business strategy and operations.
