We are looking for a highly conceptual and versatile Illustrator with deep agency experience to join our creative team. In this role, you won't just be "drawing"-you will be a visual storyteller, helping to translate complex brand strategies and creative briefs into stunning visual assets.

You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with Art Directors and Copywriters, and pivoting your style to match diverse brand identities. Whether it's creating a unique character for an ad campaign, developing a custom iconography set, or sketching storyboards for motion graphics, your work will define the visual soul of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptual Development: Collaborate with creative teams to brainstorm and develop visual metaphors that solve brand challenges.
  • Style Versatility: Execute work across a wide range of styles-from clean vector work and corporate minimalism to hand-drawn, textured, or high-fidelity editorial illustrations.
  • Asset Creation: Deliver high-quality illustrations for a variety of mediums, including social media, web interfaces, print campaigns, and presentation decks.
  • Storyboard & Pre-Visualization: Create quick-turn sketches and detailed storyboards to help clients and internal teams visualize motion graphics or live-action spots.
  • Brand Systems: Work with Design Leads to build out illustration systems and guidelines that ensure consistency across all touchpoints of a brand.
  • Agency Collaboration: Navigate the agency workflow effectively, managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines and incorporating feedback from Creative Directors.

Requirements

  • Portfolio: A strong, diverse portfolio showcasing professional work for brands or agencies. (Applications without a portfolio link will not be considered.)
  • Agency Experience: 3+ years of experience working in an advertising, branding, or digital agency environment. You understand the pace, the terminology, and the collaborative nature of the industry.
  • Technical Mastery: Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Experience with Procreate or 3D illustration tools (like Blender) is a major plus.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate the "why" behind your creative choices to internal teams and clients.
  • Timezone/Location: Must be based in EST. While remote, proximity to our Atlanta hub is preferred for occasional local creative summits.

Nice-to-Have Capabilities

  • Motion Foundations: Ability to prep files for animation or provide basic 2D motion support (After Effects).
  • Typography: A strong eye for how illustration and type interact on a page or screen.
  • Photo Manipulation: Experience blending illustration with photography for unique composite visuals.

What We're Looking For in Your Portfolio

  • Evidence of "big idea" thinking-not just pretty pictures, but visuals that communicate a message.
  • Consistency in quality across different visual styles.
  • Examples of work that has lived in the "real world" (social campaigns, billboards, websites).

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $35 to $45. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
