The Assurance Digital Risk & Compliance Managing Director will collaborate closely with the Assurance Digital team, Enterprise Digital team, Audit Standards and Methodology Group (ASMG), Office of Risk Management (ORM), Quality Management, Enterprise IT, and Office of General Counsel. You will play a key role in advising the Assurance Digital product teams on the various regulatory and RSM requirements for solution development. You will help scope, design, test, and deploy technology solutions across multiple projects and workstreams. The role reports to the Assurance Digital Leader.

LOCATION - flexible, with a preference to be located in a city with an RSM office. Some travel may be required.

  • Collaborate with the Assurance Digital team to scope, design, test, and deploy technology solutions.

  • Collaborate with ASMG, ORM, Quality Management, Enterprise IT, and Office of General Counsel to understand their requirements, embracing conflicting perspectives as they arise.

  • Advise the Assurance Digital team on risk and compliance requirements throughout the entire SDLC.

  • Own the risk and compliance aspects of the technology solutions, including preparing necessary documentation to satisfy regulatory and firm requirements.

  • Provide subject matter expertise to the Assurance Digital team and assurance practice using your background and knowledge of auditing standards, IT risk assessment, and data privacy.

Key Skills:

  • Builds and maintains strategic relationships with those key stakeholders responsible for risk and regulatory compliance.

  • Ability to interpret and convey technical information across various levels of technical aptitude, including senior management.

  • Exercises strong written communication skills to report to internal and external stakeholders. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.

  • Ability to manage multiple work streams and deadlines across projects, reporting to different stakeholders in a matrix structure.

  • Operates in a self-directed manner, maintain a high level of organization and project management skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related area or equivalent experience

  • 15+ years of current or recent experience in a public accounting

  • Experience in risk management with extensive experience working on audits performed in accordance with the PCAOB or AICPA standards

  • Strong knowledge of General IT Controls (ITGCs) including how to effectively design, implement, and test ITGCs

  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree in Accounting or equivalent degree

  • CPA or CA Certification

  • Experience working on public company or equivalent financial statement audits

  • Experience in working with various IT control frameworks such as COSO, CoBIT, ITIL and/or other leading control frameworks.

  • Understanding and working knowledge of SOC 2, SOC 1

  • Understanding of cloud computing concepts including PAAS/IAAS services as they relate to hosting environments such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and their related controls.

  • Exposure to data governance, Responsible AI, and model risk management frameworks.

  • Experience with vendor management, including the vendor in-take and approval process

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $154,400 - $337,700

Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
