Position Summary:
The Operations Excellence (OX) Senior Operations Manager is on a fast-paced development path to become the next Bakery Operations Leaders at Bimbo Bakeries USA (BBU), the nation's largest baking company. Our brand family includes legendary brands like Thomas', Entenmann's, Little Bites, Bimbo, Oroweat, Brownberry, Arnold, Artesano, and more.
Reporting to the Operations Excellence Change Leader (Director of Operations), the OX Senior Operations Manager is a Vision Carrier who works side-by-side with bakery leadership teams to implement the OX Playbook and achieve World-Class Bakery Operations.
A successful OX Senior Operations Manager will be knowledgeable about manufacturing and have a strategic, forward-thinking, people-first mindset.
Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Partner with leadership at multiple commercial baking facilities within a geography to implement and sustainably execute the OX Playbook.
  • Understand Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and actions a bakery can take to impact them.
  • Coach associates at all levels in accordance with the BBU Leadership Model, the E5 Behaviors.
  • Obtain feedback and offer solutions for continuous improvement of the OX Playbook.
  • Lead the achievement of a zero-injury workplace, including compliance with FDA, EPA, OSHA, and HACCP regulation.
  • Build a culture of mutual respect, teamwork, and professionalism, demonstrating active support of the Company's values and policies.
  • Understand and enforce procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan.
Key Behavioral Competencies:
  • Knowledge of the operations of all bakery departments: production, quality, food safety, maintenance, shipping, and materials management.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading the improvement of operations while delivering day-to-day performance.
  • Analyze and use data to tell a story and drive performance.
  • People-first leader mindset.
  • Ability to work closely in a team-based environment with associates at all levels in the organization.
  • Knowledge of safety related issues including compliance with State, Federal, and Local regulations.
  • Labor relations experience.
Education and Work History:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Food Science, or a technical field a plus. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.
  • 7+ years of increasingly responsible manufacturing experience, at least 5 years which must be in the food industry.
  • 3+ years of direct supervisory experience.
  • Strong business acumen and working knowledge of process control and improvement tools.
  • Participative management style and excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong technical skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
