Shift Options

• 2nd Shift | Monday - Thursday | 3:15 PM - 1:45 AM
• Pay | $32.79 per hour + $1 shift differential (up to $33.88 per hour after a 6-month progression)

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• Graduate of a welding program + 1 year of welding experience OR 3 years of industrial/construction professional welding experience
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• The ability to pass a qualification based on AWS D1.1 weld qualifications
• Proficient in FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW welding processes
• Experience with wire sizes ranging from .035 - 3/32 solid and flux-cored wire
• Comfortable working at a height of 20 feet
• Able to lift 40 pounds

Welder Tasks

Perform multiple tasks to support the fabrication of locomotives/mining components. Weld with wire sizes ranging from .035 to 3/32 Solid and Flux Cored wire. Weld in all positions: flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. Work with hot rolled plate, sheet, pipe, and stainless steel. Assembly work as needed. Finish by filling, grinding, sanding, straightening, heating, and shrinking components requiring filling, blending, and contouring where adjacent surfaces do not provide the finished plane. Test fabrications and welds quality. Perform plasma-cutting and air arc-cutting operations. Set up and running of simple welding operations.
