Job Description

We are currently hiring an Inventory Control Specialist at our brewery in Breinigsville, PA.

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for assuring the timely and accurate delivery of raw material and packaging materials to the designated packaging areas. This position supports the receiving and inventory control teams to maintain efficient packaging and inventory operations. The ideal candidate is a skilled forklift operator, tech-savvy, and has previous experience in warehouse fulfillment.

What You'll Brew:



  • Work effectively in a team oriented and "Safety First" environment. Safely, efficiently and effectively work to attain department and brewery goals and objectives.
  • Help ensure "No bad beer leaves the brewery"
  • Follow all Department/Brewery Procedures. Including wearing proper PPE, respirators and/or all safety and sanitation equipment as required. Must also enforce and follow all GMP guidelines
  • Work positively in a team environment and maintain positive working relationships with others.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and make recommendations to process.
  • Communicate with coworkers via Microsoft Teams, email, face to face, brewery phones, and radio. Must carry radio as required
  • Routinely operate sit-down forklifts
  • Assist with supporting overtime as needed to cover varying production needs. May include 12 hour days, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Complete routine cycle counting of finished/raw goods and packaging materials in all storage locations.
  • Eliminate inventory discrepancies, ensuring the reliability of inventories for production runs and customer orders.
  • Document receipts, routing, and storage paperwork within SAP.
  • Identify and escalate vendor-related issues
  • Assure incoming materials are within all brewery quality specifications and documentation is maintained for all materials.
  • Back flush packaging materials against finished production orders.
  • Work with Planning, Brewing, Packaging and the Warehouse to ensure that all materials needed for upcoming production runs are in-house (from South Warehouse, Nexus, Orefield, etc.)
  • Liaise with Operations and Finance on development of all RFIA requests and destructions with regard to disposition of obsolete/unused materials. Serve as resource for all inventory process concerns including TTB audits.
  • Develop and maintain inventory and receiving SOPs as well as making recommendations and striving to continuously improve the process. Develop and report internal KPIs for inventory accuracy and adjustments.
  • Create or adjust purchase orders in SAP to correct incoming discrepancies based on variance in weight or quantity.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School or GED

Experience



  • 2+ years experience in warehouse management, fulfillment, shipping/receiving or related field
  • Knowledge of warehouse/distribution technologies and methods
  • Knowledge of inventory control methods, planning, and technologies
  • Forklift certified

  • Ability to self-manage and shift priorities in a constantly changing, fast-paced work environment

  • Computer proficiency with SAP and above average proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Excel & Outlook
  • Proficient or ability to become proficient in utilization of WMS
  • Self-starter, proactive and ability to work in an unsupervised environment while maintaining daily, weekly and monthly departmental goals
  • Strong personal leadership skills, motivational skills, and organizational skills


Working Conditions



  • Operating environment is complex and densely populated with production equipment and forklifts that necessitates high situational awareness
  • Subject to loud and constant noise
  • Non-environmentally conditioned spaces which may lead to extreme hot and cold


Physical Requirements



  • All production roles are required to pass a pre-employment physical exam to comply with their specific role requirement(s). Certain roles may require the use of a respirator and passing the associated fit test
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, sometimes repeatedly
  • Regular walking and standing for long periods of time (up to 11 hours a day) on concrete, metal and grated surfaces
  • Responsibilities may require crouching, stepping over, crawling under, bending, twisting, climbing and reaching above head and shoulders repeatedly throughout the day
  • Responsibilities may require climbing flights of stairs, working from heights, on elevated platforms, or in confined spaces
  • Ability to wear assigned PPE (safety shoes, gloves, facemask, hearing protection and hard hat)
  • Established dexterity so you can handle materials, operate equipment and interface with computer systems with precision
  • Some roles (e.g., forklift operator) may be required to sit for a prolonged period of time and have strong peripheral vision and depth perception


Level: 91C

Hourly: In accordance with pay transparency laws the pay rate for this role if hired is $22.40-$31.95 per hour. However, it's important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location.
