Description

The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie has been caring for children throughout the Hudson Valley for over 175 years! We strive to empower children and families to achieve optimal health and well being, and are looking for a Preventive Functional Family Therapy Clinician in our Community Based Services Program.



Position Summary:

The Preventive Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Clinician will be responsible for utilizing the FFT model with families who have adolescents between the ages of 10 and 18. The FFT Clinician will be required to carry a caseload of, at minimum, 10 families. This position requires flexibility in hours to meet families when they are available



Essential Functions and Responsibilities:



  1. Knowledge of Evidence Based Practices and Trauma Informed Care to serve youth and families.
  2. Knowledge and competency in clinical psychotherapy with individuals and groups, including assessment, evaluation, and treatment.
  3. Familiarity and confidence in administering clinical assessments.
  4. Knowledge of crisis management and crisis avoidance.
  5. Knowledge of Strengths Based Service Planning, psychoeducation, and rehabilitative supports for children and families including those in the child welfare or foster care populations.
  6. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team as well as independently.
  7. Strong verbal communication skills and writing skills.
  8. Provide solution-focused interventions using evidence-based practices.
  9. Provide crisis avoidance interventions.
  10. Provide strengths-based service planning and psychoeducation to children and families in the community.
  11. Collaborate with families, schools, and other provider agencies to successfully provide a continuum of care.
  12. Participate in weekly individual supervision and monthly group supervision.
  13. Complete ongoing training and professional development as necessary.
  14. Complete documentation within 24-72 hours of service provision.
  15. All other duties as assigned.



Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10am-6pm, Saturday-Sunday OFF, with rotating on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

MINIMUM Qualifications:



  1. MSW or MHC Degree
  2. 2-3 years' experience working in a human services field, preferably with children and families
  3. Valid NYS Driver's License in good standing as determined by the agency



PREFERRED Qualifications:



  1. LCSW or LMHC
  2. Experience in delivery of service
  3. FFT Trained
