Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Technical Accounting Manager to join our corporate accounting team. This critical role will be instrumental in supporting the company's growth initiatives, ensuring robust internal controls, and driving transformational accounting projects. The ideal candidate possesses deep technical expertise in U.S. GAAP, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across various functions. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Acquisitions Accounting: Lead the accounting for business combinations, including purchase price allocations, fair value assessments of acquired assets and assumed liabilities, and integration of acquired entities into the company's accounting processes and systems.
- Monthly Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of certain monthly deliverables, such as the cash flow statement and other technical analyses.
- Transformational Projects: Support significant accounting projects related to system integrations, process improvements, and the adoption of new accounting standards. Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and ensuring compliance with all relevant authoritative literature.
- Technical Research & Guidance: Conduct in-depth research on complex accounting matters and document conclusions in detailed technical memos. Provide clear and concise accounting guidance to business partners and senior management.
- Internal Controls (SOX): Assist in continuous improvement of the design and monitoring of the internal controls environment in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
- Policy Maintenance and Training: Maintain accounting policies to ensure consistent application of U.S. GAAP across the organization and develop best practice materials for the organization.
- Audit Support: Serve as a key liaison for internal and external auditors, assist in managing requests and ensuring timely and accurate completion of audit procedures related to technical areas and internal controls.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a mix of public accounting (Big Four preferred) and private industry experience.
- CPA certification is required.
- Expert-level knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) and SEC reporting requirements.
- Proven experience in business combinations accounting (ASC 805) and internal controls over financial reporting (SOX 404).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex accounting guidance into practical business application.
- Strong project management skills, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team structure.
