Overview

The Staff, Private Capital Accounting performs accounting and support functions for private capital entities, including joint ventures, that invest in real estate. This position requires coordination with cross functional groups including: property accounting, accounts payable, treasury and corporate accounting.



Responsibilities

    Maintain general ledgers by proposing and posting journal entries for all month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting close processes.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and other workpapers on a timely basis.
  • Prepare and/or assist with the preparation of debt compliance and financial reporting for private capital entities and the underlying properties.
  • Assist in the annual external audits of the private capital entities and the underlying properties.
  • Assist in the preparation of various forecast models.
  • Assist in various ad-hoc financial analysis and other projects.
  • Cross train on other entities within the private capital accounting group and provide backup support as needed.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
  • 0 - 3 years of accounting experience; CPA (preferred).
  • Prior experience with private real estate funds and/or the private equity industry (preferred).
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple deliverables at one time.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively and proactively communicate with business partners and management regarding accounting related matters.
  • Ability to remain positive under pressure.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Yardi (preferred).

The estimated base compensation range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 per year. RMR considers several components including an individual's skills, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market data.
