Senior Director, Health Economics and Real-World Evidence

Harmony Biosciences is recruiting for a Senior Director, Health Economics and Real-World Evidence. In this role you will be responsible for generating, interpreting, and communicating health economic evidence that demonstrates the clinical and economic value of Harmony's marketed and pipeline portfolios. It is also responsible for developing and executing robust real-world evidence strategies and studies. This position plays an important role in supporting market access by ensuring that evidence needs are met to support product differentiation, reimbursement, guideline inclusion and optimal patient outcomes as well as informing payers, formulary decision makers, healthcare providers, regulators and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute the Health Economic Outcomes and Real-World Evidence strategies
  • Design, manage and interpret Health Economic Outcomes and Real-World Evidence studies that assess disease burden, treatment patterns, health economic outcomes, and comparative safety in real-world clinical practice.
  • Lead and/or support the development of health economic models and budget impact analyses
  • Monitor emerging trends, data sources, and methodologies in HEOR and RWE
  • Collaborate with Clinical Development teams to optimize endpoint selection and data collection in clinical studies such as patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and quality of life (QoL) measures
  • Collaborate with Biostatistics and Regulatory to ensure HEOR endpoints and study designs meet global health authority and HTA expectations
  • Collaborate with the Commercial and Market Access teams to ensure HEOR evidence meets global payer needs and supports launch readiness, pricing, and reimbursement activities
  • Collaborate with the medical and scientific directors to support the development and execution of the Medical Affairs strategies
  • Serve as HEOR point-of-contact for payer, HTA, and regulatory interactions
  • Engage and manage vendors, academic collaborators, and external consultants to deliver HEOR projects on time and within scope
  • Work with key external stakeholders, including KOLs and health economics experts, to shape and validate research approaches
  • Direct oversight and management of the HEOR/RWE budget
  • Develop and execute publication and congress presentation plans to effectively disseminate HEOR findings.
  • Ensure alignment with GPP (Good Publication Practice) and scientific integrity throughout the publication process
  • Support the training of MSLs on relevant HEOR/RWE data and activities
  • Serve as a member of the Medical Affairs Leadership Team
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, internal SOPs, and data privacy requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree required; PharmD or PhD in related field
  • 10+ years' experience within the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on HEOR / RWE required
  • Demonstrated applied research experience in conducting health economic, health related quality of life, and/or health services research studies.
  • Experience in analyzing and collecting patient-reported outcomes, claims and EMR databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in the design and execution of HEOR studies, including the writing of protocols and analytic plans for prospective and retrospective studies.
  • Knowledge of survey design and use of psychometric tools to collect data and conduct clinical outcome assessments.
  • Proven track record of developing professional relationships with customers, key opinion leaders and peers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, motivate and develop small groups in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment, as required
  • Strong computer, organizational, and analytical skills required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to colleagues, business partners, stakeholders and upper management across varied styles and cultures
  • Must think critically and creatively, and be able to determine appropriate resources for resolution of problems and have strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proven success with product launches and cross-functional collaboration

Physical demands and work environment:

  • Domestic and international travel is estimated to be 25% of the time for this position. Valid US Passport or ability to obtain is required.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision.
  • Manual dexterity required to use computers, tablets, and cell phone.
  • Continuous sitting for prolonged periods.
