Reporting to the Assistant Group Supervisor for Sector/Department Capital Projects, you will oversee the planning, design, construction, and commissioning of assigned projects ranging from $100,000 to $5 million in value. This position will play a key role in shaping the Laboratory's short and long-term capital investments, long-range campus development, facility design and construction efforts, and bridging current and future needs to support the Lab's mission. Job SummaryThis position will be reporting to the Assistant Group Supervisor of the Facilities Design and Construction Group. The Project Management Section Supervisor will supervise the Project Managers and Construction Managers to meet the needs of different programs in a highly technical, fast-changing, research and development environment. A Section Supervisor is being sought to supervise, lead, and mentor a section of approximately 12-14 staff, where staff have a variety of backgrounds and experience levels. This individual will be responsible for defining expectations, providing technical expertise, implementing guidance and policies, providing performance coaching, and fostering the professional development of the staff in their section. They will work closely with other Section Supervisors in the Group, as well as Leadership across the Laboratory, to maximize the impact to the organization, create and sustain a culture of excellence and cross-enterprise collaboration. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. government security clearance investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
