The Senior Commercial Strategy Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing KARL STORZ North America's commercial strategy to achieve an ambitious $1.5B U.S. revenue goal over the next five years. Partnering closely with the KSNA Commercial Leadership Team, this role drives strategic direction, prioritizes growth opportunities, and ensures disciplined execution across the commercial organization.

This leader will own the annual long-range strategic planning process, guide business segment strategies, and lead high-impact strategic initiatives-ranging from growth and go-to-market strategies to portfolio optimization and new business model development.

What you will be doing:

Commercial Strategy & Growth

  • Develop, drive, and measure the North American commercial strategy aligned with corporate and global objectives.
  • Identify, prioritize, and advance strategic growth and operational improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor market dynamics, competitive insights, and performance trends; recommend strategic adjustments as needed.

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Lead the annual long-range strategic planning process for KSNA Commercial and individual commercial segments.
  • Partner with commercial leaders to translate strategy into actionable plans, milestones, and KPIs.
  • Track progress and communicate results throughout the year.

High-Priority Strategic Initiatives

  • Lead cross-functional (and occasionally external) strategy projects such as:
    • Growth and new business expansion
    • Buy/build/partner analysis
    • Go-to-market and commercial model design
    • Portfolio and Voice-of-Customer analysis
    • New revenue and recurring business models
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations, support execution where applicable.

Leadership & Communication

  • Serve as the voice of KSNA Commercial Strategy, delivering clear, compelling narratives to executives and employees.
  • Ensure alignment with KSNA business planning and Global Sales & Marketing strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with sales and marketing leaders on product launches, segment strategies, and revenue optimization.

What you bring:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in strategy planning, execution, or management.
    • Includes 2+ years in consulting or corporate strategy.
    • Includes 2+ years of people leadership or large-scale program/project management.
  • Strong command of strategic frameworks and ability to apply them pragmatically.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills.

Preferred

  • MBA or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in healthcare (medical device, life sciences, pharma, provider, or payer).
  • Familiarity with medical device industry dynamics and commercialization models.
  • International strategy experience or background in top-tier consulting.
  • Prior business or operational roles in complex, matrixed environments.

Additional Information

  • Travel: Approximately 1-2 trips per month to U.S. commercial headquarters (Los Angeles).
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced, high-visibility role requiring comfort with ambiguity and change.
