Anticipated Hiring Range: $20.25 - $25.38 hourly
Full Pay Range: $20.25 - $30.50 hourly

Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

We Require

  • Two years of experience performing high-volume office, administrative, or clerical duties
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Post-secondary education may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis

Other Requirements

  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire

We Also Value

  • Associate's degree or higher
  • Four years of experience performing office, administrative, and clerical duties
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Job Contributions

  • Coordinate employee access to computer applications and communication systems, and ensure that current and new staff have all the necessary equipment needed for their role
  • Schedule and plan internal staff meetings, which include preparing certificates and reserving the meeting location
  • Train new administrative support staff and is the point of contact for department administrative processes
  • Manage inventory of office supplies and office equipment; submit requests for supplies and equipment orders
  • Retrieve and deliver highly confidential materials, including but not limited to payroll checks, bus passes, and legal documents
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets, including employee phone lists, schedules, calendars, and directories
  • Arrange and provide administrative support with other County departments, including facility management, fleet services, and payroll
  • Provide coverage for the file room, mail processing, and the reception desk
  • Coordinate a high volume of phone calls from the public, including hospitals and doctors' offices

Working Conditions

  • Work includes interruptions, time pressures, high volumes of work, and handling multiple, unscheduled, or changing tasks
  • Requires frequent public contact; Constant need for accuracy, concentration, vigilance, and teamwork
  • May be required to lift (floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead), carry, pull, or push up to 30 pounds.
  • Telework options may be available after the training period
