Executive Director – Full Time
Big Pals Little Pals of Greater Columbus is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and mission-driven Executive Director to lead and grow our youth mentorship organization. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for guiding all aspects of the organization, strengthening community relationships, and ensuring high-quality mentorship experiences for local youth.
The Executive Director serves as the primary leader and public representative of Big Pals Little Pals, working closely with the Board of Directors, mentors, families, donors, and community partners to advance the organization’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Organizational Leadership & Operations
- Provide overall leadership and day-to-day management of the organization
- Ensure programs operate effectively, ethically, and in alignment with the organization’s mission
- Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives and execute fundraising initiatives and execute fundraising initiatives, campaigns, and special events
- Support and collaborate with the Board of Directors, including preparing reports and attending meetings
Program Oversight & Mentorship Services
- Oversee mentor and mentee recruitment, screening, training, and matching
- Monitor and support mentor/mentee relationships to ensure safe, positive, and impactful outcomes
- Maintain program records, reporting, and compliance with organizational standards
- Evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for growth or improvement
Fundraising, Grants & Financial Management
- Plan and execute fundraising initiatives, campaigns, and special events
- Build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and community supporters
- Research, apply for, and manage grants, including reporting requirements
- Develop and manage the annual budget, monitor expenses, and ensure financial accountability
Community Outreach & Public Relations
- Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for the organization
- Build strong partnerships with schools, businesses, service organizations, and community leaders
- Increase visibility and awareness of Big Pals Little Pals through outreach, presentations, and networking
- Support marketing and communication efforts, including print, digital, and social media outreach
Qualifications & Skills:
- Nonprofit leadership or management experience preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with fundraising, donor relations, or grant management strongly preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while meeting deadlines
- Comfortable working with diverse populations, including youth, families, volunteers, and community partners
- Passion for youth development, mentorship, and community impact
Work Schedule:
- Full-time position, Monday–Friday, 8: 00 AM–5: 00 PM
- Occasional evenings and weekends required for events, meetings, or outreach activities
