Summary of Job Description:

The Panda Supply Chain Operations team provides comprehensive supply chain support for restaurant operations and stakeholders. The Director, Supply Chain Operations collaborates with SCM leadership to execute strategic initiatives and streamline supply chain functions. This position oversees in-house warehouse and mailroom operations and supports distribution, logistics, network planning and other supply chain functions to ensure resilience, cost-effectiveness, and scalable operational performance. The Director is accountable for formulating and implementing warehouse and mailroom strategies, balancing service quality, cost, and capacity to facilitate business growth. This position establishes and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs), pursues cost optimization opportunities, leads continuous improvement efforts, and ensures alignment among people, processes, systems, and partners. The Director leads a diverse team of managers, professionals and hourly associates, overseeing associate development and team growth.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partners with SCM leadership and key stakeholders to develop and execute long-term strategies and initiatives that align with the enterprise and effectively advance business objectives.
  • Develops and executes the long-term Warehouse and Mailroom strategy.Identifies and implements ongoing enhancements of Panda's Warehouse and Mailroom operations in alignment with the overall Panda enterprise global distribution strategy.
  • Oversees the secure, accurate, and timely receipt, storage, handling, and distribution of products and correspondence. Responsibilities encompass inbound receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment and shipping, internal distribution, and Panda mail services.
  • Oversees, mentors, and supports SCM management, professional, and hourly associates with the goal of enhancing both performance and development. Responsible for staff selection, evaluation, and retention.
  • Manages operating budgets, annual planning, controlling labor and transportation costs and ensuring accurate expense tracking. This function is accountable for cost-per-unit performance, inventory accuracy and shrink control, vendor and carrier invoice validation, and identification of cost-saving opportunities through productivity improvements, asset management, and third-party services.
  • Responsible for continuously improving safety, quality, speed, and cost processes through standardized work, waste elimination, and data-driven problem solving. Responsibilities include identifying inefficiencies, streamlining material and work flows, improving layout and automation, increasing labor productivity, and sustaining gains through performance metrics, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ensures timely, accurate, and reliable fulfillment of internal and external service commitments. Responsibilities include defining service level agreements, monitoring performance metrics, establishing KPI's, managing priorities and exceptions, and driving corrective actions to maintain on-time delivery, order accuracy, and responsiveness, while aligning capacity and resources to meet business and operator expectations.
  • Ensures optimized space utilization, enhances labor productivity, maintains inventory accuracy to support demand; ensures adherence to safety and security standards and supports overall business objectives with reliable and cost-effective operational performance.

Your background and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum ten years of experience in supply chain management, distribution, or a related field with at least three to five years in a leadership role, preferably in a multi-unit food service distribution or warehouse organization.
  • Successful completion of initial and periodically required trainings.
  • Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.

Pay Range: M4: $161,000 - $226,000 / Annual

* Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.
