Job Summary Job Summary: The Violence Intervention Specialist Intervention will provide acute intervention, outreach, trauma-informed and trauma-focused counseling, and case management for youth and adolescents (ages 14-24 years old) who are victims of interpersonal violence. This position requires the ability to provide clinical services in a non-traditional setting (hospital; home; school), utilizing a wide range of strategies to address symptoms of trauma and disruptions in daily living (safety, emotional management, loss, and future). The candidate must also be able to provide case management services, supporting individuals in the program in increasing meaningful connection to school, employment, family, social supports, and social services. The role requires a significant amount of community/home-based work, evening work hours, and a willingness to engage within a diverse range of communities and neighborhoods in and around Atlanta, GA.Required: High school diploma or GED, or ability to complete GED within 1 year of hire required Preferred: Associates degree in social work, psychology, or a related field preferred but not required. Required: Obtain certification in one or more of the following (or equivalent certifications) within 1 year of hire: SPARCS - Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescence Responding to Chronic Stress CTRP - Certified Trauma & Resilience Practitioner Peer Mentor Certification Street Outreach Certification Core Competencies 1.
