Dean of College of Business

Job Description

Advise students with interest in the Trulaske College of Business regarding issues such as degree requirements, choosing a major, probationary concern, course registration and other concerns. Coordinate student success initiatives.

45% Advise undergraduate business students
* Track progress for applying to the upper level
* Check graduation requirements
* Counsel on career preparation
* Academic advising
* Advise students regarding student's schedule
* Work with probation/academic actions
* Maintain communication with advisees
* Evaluate transcripts
* Referrals
* Transitional Advising

40% Oversee graduation checks process
~Lead the graduation checks team each summer, fall and spring in evaluating if students have met graduation requirements
~Communicate with all graduates on process and status of their degree completion
~Process all graduation applications and awarding of degrees for college
~Process all business minors and Entrepreneurship and Innovation minor applications on an ongoing basis
~Add minor declaration to student's academic plan on an ongoing basis

5% Maintain degree program check sheets and work with campus colleagues to update degree audits

5% Serve as office liaison for graduation ceremony

5% Other duties as assigned by the Director of Undergraduate Advising.

Shift

8-5, Monday - Friday; occasional evening and weekends

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree or bachelor's degree with equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
Prefer experience 1-2 years working in higher education serving as an advisor to students. Knowledge of academic policies and student affairs is also beneficial

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $45,156.80-$59,374/year

Grade: GGS-009
