STS Technical Services is hiring a Director of Aircraft MRO Maintenance Operations to lead repair station operations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This senior leadership role is responsible for directing all operational, regulatory, and commercial functions of the repair station while ensuring compliance, performance, and sustainable growth.

Due to the scope of responsibility, this position may be delegated as the Accountable Manager. The ideal candidate brings deep aviation maintenance leadership experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to align people, processes, and production with business objectives.


Job Summary

The Director of Aircraft MRO Maintenance Operations is responsible for overseeing all aspects of repair station operations, including production, sales, business development, customer service, engineering, shipping and receiving, and indirect material planning. This role ensures regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, workforce readiness, and financial performance while serving as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities.


MRO Duties & Responsibilities

  • Direct or delegate all aspects of repair station operations including production, sales, business development, customer service, engineering, shipping, and receiving
  • Ensure sufficient manpower resources are available to support all required tasks, including staffing levels, training, and qualifications
  • Ensure equipment, tooling, and materials are available to support all required maintenance activities
  • Lead hiring efforts and workforce planning for repair station personnel
  • Ensure completion of annual employee feedback and performance reviews
  • Establish reports and maintain accountability for key performance indicators and operational metrics
  • Establish, manage, and adjust the annual operating budget as required
  • Oversee production planning and forecasting of in house maintenance work
  • Communicate and enforce company policies across all departments
  • Communicate regularly with executive management and station staff
  • Ensure compliance with FAA FAR Part 145, EASA Part 145, and all applicable regulatory certifications
  • Ensure compliance with customer and OEM contractual obligations
  • Ensure the Repair Station Manual, Quality Control Manual, Training Manual, and EASA Supplement are current
  • Approve capability list changes as required
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the repair station and the FAA
  • Administer the FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program

Required Qualifications

  • FAA Airframe or Airframe and Powerplant certificate preferred, or eligibility for a Repairman certificate upon assuming the position
  • Five to ten years of relevant management experience in aviation maintenance or repair station operations
  • Strong leadership, management, and communication skills
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and production control
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams and manage complex operational environments

Education


  • Four year degree in a related field preferred
