Description The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is seeking a Solution Architect - Technical Product Solutioning, at our Leidos Headquarters in Reston, VA or remotely. POSITION SUMMARY: The Solution Architect is responsible for designing, documenting, and transitioning technical approaches, capabilities, solutions, and services (also known as "Mission Drivers") into the enterprise deliverable offerings through a defined Service Catalog. The Solution Architect requires strong experience in developing structured, costed, and traceable multi-disciplined technical capabilities and solutions for mission drivers and integration into Leidos programs. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in creating Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Basis of Estimates (BOE), and Bills of Materials (BOM) aligned with solution requirements and strategies. This role bridges the gap between engineering, practices, and service delivery/operations by developing complete technical solution packages to ensure successful deployment and long-term supportability of mission drivers. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Mission Driver Solution Development & Transition
- Develop and document end-to-end technical solution documentation for mission drivers and tailor existing solutions to meet customer requirements
- Transition of approved mission drivers into the Service Catalog for enterprise delivery.
- Define service tiers, SLAs, and KPIs for cataloged services.
- Evaluate technical feasibility and ensure designs align with scalability, cybersecurity, and compliance requirements.
- Define mission driver standards and best practices to ensure consistency across solutions and implementations
- Lead and drive technical discussions to understand, define and document mission driver description, use cases and concept of operations.
Mission Driver Planning & Documentation
- Create detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) outlining development, deployment, and sustainment phases of technical capabilities and solutions.
- Develop Basis of Estimate (BOE) documents for cost, labor, and material forecasting. Support costing efforts with technical inputs and justifications that align to a deployment & sustainment plan.
- Prepare Bills of Material (BOM) that list hardware, software, and licensing components needed for implementation of mission driver capability and solutions.
- Perform risk assessment and identify assumptions in support of early lifecycle planning and Business Case Assessment (BCA)
- Support development of Concept of Operations, Mission Driver Vision and Description, and other required lifecycle documentation.
- Support Growth activities and evaluation/alignment of products with pipeline opportunities.
Mission Driver Delivery & Sustainment
- Partner with engineering, delivery and operations teams to ensure mission drivers are deployable, documented and maintainable.
- Support the development of transition-to-operations documentation and handoff packages.
- Define deployment and sustainment models and support strategies to ensure lifecycle management and continuous improvement.
Collaboration & Governance
- Work closely with Practices, Product Managers, Program Managers, Service Owners, and Engineering Leads to ensure solution feasibility and alignment with strategic goals.
- Serve as bridge between mission driver strategy, engineering, and operations teams ensuring that proposed solutions are technically sound, documented, repeatable, and maintainable.
- Maintain compliance with organizational governance, cybersecurity, and documentation standards.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; (additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
- 12+ years of experience in systems engineering, solution architecture, or IT service design.
- Demonstrated experience with WBS, BOE, and BOM development.
- Proven ability to drive both technical and non-technical teams across the mission driver lifecycle to deliver and sustain a broad set of technical Capability and solutions offerings
- Strong understanding of cost modeling and implementation scheduling.
- Proven track record of integrating technical product solutions into Service Catalogs or service delivery portfolios.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience in product management or product ownership roles.
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, automation, cloud services, and enterprise platforms (AWS, Azure, ServiceNow).
- Experience working with stakeholders to understand business needs and translating them into technical requirements.
- Experience collaborating with product managers to define and prioritize features and product roadmaps.
- Adept at critical and objective thinking, with the ability to coalesce the team and drive progress steadily towards defined outcomes
- Certification in AWS/Azure architecture.
- Master's Degree

Pay Range:Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
