Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Software Test Engineer to support the Golden Dome mission, with a focus on testing, verification, and validation of mission-critical software supporting space-based interceptor and associated ground systems. The selected candidate will serve as a senior authority for software test strategy, planning, execution, and analysis across complex, highly integrated defense systems.
This role requires extensive experience testing software-intensive DoD systems, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to operate effectively in highly classified environments.

  • Support test readiness reviews (TRRs), system verification reviews (SVRs), and post-test analysis activities.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects and anomalies, determine root causes, and support resolution and re-test efforts.
  • Evaluate software performance, reliability, cybersecurity, and resiliency characteristics.
  • Support automation of test execution and data analysis where appropriate.
  • Prepare and deliver technical briefings to senior leadership and government stakeholders.
  • Ensure all testing activities comply with security, safety, and program requirements, including SAP-controlled environments.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior test engineers.
Required Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior Special Access Program (SAP) experience
  • Strong knowledge of software test methodologies, defect management, and requirements traceability.
  • Experience with both manual and automated testing approaches.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing senior technical and government leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting missile defense, space systems, or homeland defense missions.
  • Familiarity with Space Force, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), or other national-level defense programs.
  • Experience testing command and control (C2), mission planning, or real-time systems.
  • Proficiency with automated test frameworks, scripting languages, and CI/CD pipelines.
