We are working on a hybrid schedule, 3 days in the office, 2 at home.

Based in Natick, MA, this role will oversee the execution of all payroll activities across the Americas. Extensive U.S. payroll experience is required, while experience supporting Canada, Brazil, and Mexico is a plus. The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise with ADP Workforce Now, a deep understanding of payroll operations, and a proven ability to drive innovative, best-in-class payroll solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, HRIS, this role will partner closely with Employee Services, Finance, Accounting, and Tax teams to design and implement streamlined processes. This position also offers a unique opportunity to help shape and execute the roadmap for the company's global payroll strategy and operations.

Essential Functions

  • Play a role in shaping the current and long-term strategic vision for the payroll function; assess current processes and systems; identify best practices in payroll administration and automation

  • Manage payroll team processes and oversight of payroll operations to ensure accurate and timely payments to Cognoids, required country reporting & payroll tax filing

  • Ensure operations are performed in compliance with internal policies, country, state/province, and local laws, and are aligned with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)

  • Reconcile and approve all payroll operational steps and funding in partnership with internal teams in ES and Finance

  • Oversee the required processing of equity grants (stock options and restricted stock units), ensuring compliance with country tax regulation and reporting with guidance from equity team and the vendor administrator

  • Assist ES, along with counsel and vendor support, on payroll implications of global/regional mobility for Cognoids

  • Work with internal and external audit teams on quarterly and annual payroll audits

  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing all payroll-related inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • ADP experience is required

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Passion for the technology side of payroll, looking to lean on technology to drive optimization in the team

  • Ability to coach and develop team members

  • Ability to manage external vendors effectively

  • Keen instincts for solving complex issues using strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills

  • Strong process orientation, numerical aptitude and attention to detail

  • Effective organizational, time management and project management skills

  • Able to adapt to rapidly changing environment and enjoy working in a fast-paced culture

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

  • Commercial awareness and understanding of business & financial concepts

Minimum education and work experience required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or equivalent is desired

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in a similar role is highly desirable, including experience working at a public-listed, global technology company

  • Minimum 3 years of people management experience

  • Experience in global payroll preferred

Cognex believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is90,000 USD-175,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a sales incentive plan.
