This is a hybrid position. The onsite requirement is 3 days per week but is subject to change based on meeting, projects, or overall support of the team.

An increased onsite requirement will be needed during training period.

Job Summary

The Clerkship Coordinator is responsible for administration of the clerkship program as defined by the clerkship curriculum established by the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine (OUWBSOM) and Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accreditation guidelines.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate Clerkship Scheduling and Orientation

    • Develop and maintain the annual clerkship calendar in alignment with OUWB School of Medicine curriculum.

    • Schedule medical student rotations across assigned departments and ensure timely communication of schedules.

    • Organize and facilitate orientation sessions for incoming medical students, providing necessary resources and departmental information.

  • Serve as Primary Liaison

    • Act as the main point of contact between the department, medical students, and the Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) office.

    • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and OUWB representatives to resolve student issues and ensure smooth program operations.

  • Maintain Curriculum and Accreditation Compliance

    • Assist in updating clerkship curriculum materials and ensure adherence to LCME accreditation standards.

    • Monitor compliance requirements and maintain accurate documentation for audits and reviews.

  • Manage Evaluation Processes

    • Track and ensure timely completion of student evaluations by faculty and preceptors.

    • Maintain evaluation records and enter data into required systems for reporting and accreditation purposes.

  • Provide Administrative and Project Support

    • Prepare agendas, meeting minutes, and reports for clerkship-related meetings.

    • Support departmental initiatives, including quality improvement projects and data collection for program metrics.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate's Degree OR High School Diploma with a minimum of 4 years of experience in medical administration

Preferred

  • Experience in academic or clinical education settings

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
