Cytek's San Diego manufacturing facility plays a growing role in supporting high-quality reagent production under internationally recognized standards. The team in San Diego is integral to reagent manufacturing - producing key products for flow cytometry applications - as part of Cytek's broader commitment to quality and precision in life science manufacturing.

As a Manufacturing Specialist II on the Cytek Biosciences San Diego manufacturing team, you will be responsible for supporting antibody production and quality workflows that contribute directly to Cytek's reagent and biologics manufacturing operations. Your primary responsibilities will include hybridoma cell culture production, clarification and concentration of antibody supernatant, SDS-PAGE testing, and additional quality-related tasks. You will also participate in monoclonal antibody purification using affinity chromatography, ensuring work is aligned with production schedules and executed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn and comply with departmental policies, procedures, standard operating procedures, and work instructions

  • Perform hybridoma cell culture using roller bottle production

  • Execute antibody purification via affinity chromatography

  • Conduct SDS-PAGE testing

  • Perform endotoxin testing

  • Assist with animal husbandry, including some tissue harvesting

  • Serve as a backup for clarification/concentration of cell culture

  • Prepare and initiate all procedures and documentation under supervision

  • Contribute to buffer preparation

  • Accurately record data and observations into databases

  • Maintain laboratory supply inventory and coordinate re-ordering as needed

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma required, Bachelor of Science degree in Biology or related field preferred

  • 2+ years of relevant laboratory/manufacturing experience, ideally in a GMP environment, or a combination of education and experience

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)

  • Strong laboratory mathematical and organizational skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment

  • Demonstrated teamwork and interpersonal skills with attention to detail

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear; use hands for handling or feeling; and reach with hands and arms. Close vision is essential. Occasional stepstool use is needed to access materials. The role may involve exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
