Job Description:

Saab is seeking a skilled Data Informatics Analyst to support our efforts in delivering data-driven solutions across the organization. The ideal candidate will operate at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and strategic decision-making, transforming raw data into actionable insights for multiple business units and functional teams, including Business Operations, HR, Finance, IT, Security, and Legal.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and deliver data-driven solutions that support organizational goals and strategic decision-making.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Finance, IT, Security, Legal) to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.

  • Architect and implement secure, scalable, and efficient data platforms in compliance with internal and external security standards.

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain ETL pipelines using Python to ingest, clean, and transform large datasets from various sources.

  • Build and maintain interactive KPI dashboards and data visualizations using modern BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Qlik).

  • Ensure data governance, integrity, and availability by following best practices in data architecture and lifecycle management.

  • Collaborate with data architects and IT teams to maintain system scalability, reliability, and security.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot data quality issues across reporting layers and ETL workflows.

  • Ability to occasionally travel (typically 1 trip per quarter).

Compensation Ranges:

Syracuse, NY, West Lafayette, IN, or Orlando, FL: $72,000 - $90,000

Washington, D.C., Ashburn, VA, or Quincy MA: $86,400 - $108,000

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree (preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline) with 3+ years of relevant experience, or MA/MS degree in (preferably in Information Technology, Data Science, or a related discipline) with 1+ year of relevant experience

  • Proficient in Python for data engineering and ETL development.

  • Strong experience with SQL and data modeling.

  • Expertise in designing and deploying BI dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.

  • Understanding of Azure services, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Machine Learning, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Logic Apps.

  • Solid understanding of data security principles, compliance requirements, and best practices in secure data architecture.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
