The Environmental Service Technician cleans and disinfects patient areas, treatment areas, restrooms, and public space in line with the departmental standards to meet the customer service needs of the hospital. Working under close supervision, this role works to prevent illness by abiding by the environmental and infection prevention standards of external regulatory agencies. * This position encompasses 1st shift openings for Environmental Services at Moses Cone, Wesley Long * The Environmental Service Technician cleans and disinfects patient areas, treatment areas, restrooms, and public space in line with the departmental standards to meet the customer service needs of the hospital. Working under close supervision, this role works to prevent illness by abiding by the environmental and infection prevention standards of external regulatory agencies. Documents performed cleaning tasks on the appropriate forms to record items accurately in paperwork. Communicates effectively with the supervisor to keep them informed of current responsibilities and resolve any complex or urgent issues. Assists in monitoring supply levels in order to balance departmental supply needs and budgetary goals. Helps maintain the cleanliness and functioning of equipment and storage areas to ensure department operations run efficiently. Treats and removes carpet stains as needed without prompting in order to maintain a clean appearance for guests and patients. Assists in the selection and use of cleaning agents and equipment to safeguard against damage and clean effectively to reduce the risk of illness. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent, Preferred EXPERIENCE: Six (6) months to one (1) year previous customer service experience in a healthcare services department.
